We pray this letter finds you and your family doing well in the Lord! It's been a beautiful year of simply soaking in the faithfulness of the Lord. This year has presented some new challenges and some existing ones resurfacing, but overall, the faithfulness of the Lord always prevailing.
Zayin- Sweet, Zay that continues to remind Mommy almost on a daily basis, "God is faithful". He bent over and whispered this sweet promise to me this very morning as we were building blocks together. I am continually drawn back by the work of the Lord through this little life. His abnormality has really shown it's ugly face this year, but he has continued to persevere despite pain, discomfort, and way too many visits to the radiologist. According to his surgeon, there is just so much unknown currently. Time will hopefully tell us more, but until then, we will continue to pray for the Lord's guidance and beautiful peace amongst this unknown. Our family sees this abnormality as simply a way for the Lord to show His glory through our family. And just this, He continues to do, which we are so thankful for. Developmentally, Zayin continues to grow into the neatest most fun-loving little boy. He adores his daddy and is totally done with Mommy as soon as Daddy walks through that door from work! We are hoping the abnormality won't cause major physical and emotional issues with him starting pre-school in the Fall, as doctors believe potty training is nearly impossible at this point since he doesn't have any control over his bowel movements. We are trusting the Lord to work out those details. We are just so thankful for his bubbly personality, loving heart, and Bible-preaching self! He's so full of life, and we are so looking forward to the new role of BIG brother he will be taking on in the Spring! I am confident he will take on this role with love and a lot of kisses!
Devin- Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths (Provers 3:5-6). This is a verse along with Mark 12:30-31, that we recite every night together as a family when putting Zayin down to bed. It has been a great reminder of our purpose in this life and our limited understanding of it. As we seek as a family to love our God with everything that we are and love our neighbors, He continues to sustain us as well as open new doors. I continue to serve at GRACE Christian as the Athletic Director. Last year we experienced some great highs with one being a first Varsity Girls Soccer state championship. This past fall season we had close to 1,000 people come to our Varsity 8-man homecoming football game and now we are in the midst of basketball season. It has been a pleasure to continue to serve with and learn from great leaders at the school. The Lord has also opened the door to serve in the worship ministry at Redeemer Community Church, which recently our family became new members. I am glad to get back to being a part of a worship band and using this gift. God has given us a great community in our new town of Fuquay-Varina (have fun with the pronunciation of that one:) to love others, and we are grateful for the people God has brought into our lives. Brittany has been a rock solid, God-fearing, prayerful wife that I am so grateful for. The best part is being able to share many laughs together as a family...which is thankfully very often :) I think Zay will surely be taking over the role as the "jokester" very soon. And lastly, God has blessed us with an addition to Team Terris coming in May! Brittany and I are very excited and so is Zay to welcome a new life into our family.
Brittany- This year has been a year of soaking in truth. It's been a year to slow down and begin enjoying the presence of the Lord not just on Sundays, but on a daily basis. Since moving to Fuquay, the Lord has directed us to Redeemer Community Church where He's graced our lives with the sweetest, most loving people who are quickly becoming like family to us. We are humbled to be able to be a part of this body of believers as the Lord's Spirit continues to allow us to be the church. Photography is going really well, and again I am so thankful for this outlet. It's been a beautiful testimony to the Lord's goodness in our lives. I am so grateful to be able to capture love and laughter through His Light. Lastly, we are so humbled the Lord would grace us with another little one to raise up in His Name. Pregnancy is going well and we are grateful to be in the care of a midwifery team this go-round. Both Devin and I felt their model of care fit our needs and desires best, and we are so thankful to be, Lord willing, giving birth at Baby + Co. We covet your prayers for this pregnancy and transitional time. Most importantly we pray not our will, but the Lord's be done.
We love all of you and are so grateful for you. We pray your Christmas is filled with love, lots of yummy food (that's T2 talkin...), and the beautiful/tangile presence of our Savior, who has come and is making all things new.
With love in Christ,
Devin, Brittany, Zayin + T2
